Sankofa Icon

Programs/Medium: Photoshop, Illustrator, Pencils, Pens, and Sharpie

Client: African American Cultural Center at NC State

At the African American Cultural Center, I was asked by the Program Coordinator, Mr. John Miller IV to help make some icons that the AACC could use in their daily correspondence in the office. Mr. Miller wanted to start off with the Sankofa (that bird in the center of the circle) which in West African Adinkra lore represents learning from the past. I gave John a bunch of different versions of the icon to choose from, trying both a simple version and a more graphic flowing version. Which one do you like the most?
